Alice is sitting on the sofa for the umpteenth session with her analyst. She tells him that her sexual desire (she is a nymphomaniac) has not calmed down at all after months and months of therapy. She adds that when she walks down the street she doesn't feel at ease because all the men seem to look at her and desire her. Andy, the man's name, tells her that maybe this is a projection of hers, technically called ‘locus of control’. The woman probably projects her desires onto the other men around her. Alice replies that maybe that's the case, but in fact, she finds herself having sex with whoever she wants, without understanding why. Andy then asks her if she feels she has made any progress during the therapy. Alice replies no! At that point Andy suggests a new therapy, based on a mobile app programme, which would be able to put any patient into a trance. If Alice accepts, it is very likely that her problems would disappear in a short time. Alice accepts enthusiastically.
